Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, Texas. Shirley passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.
Shirley was born April 8, 1951 in Greenville, Texas, the daughter of Ray Barnett and Billie Lou Morgan Barnett. She attended Wolfe City High School. Shirley worked for Lehde’s Grocery Store and also for Sikes Grocery Store. She owned and operated an independent childcare business in Bonham for 26 years. To her it wasn’t a ‘business’; it was a calling. She loved each of her ‘babies’ that she cared for as her own and remained “Nanny” to them even after they grew up and no longer needed her care. Shirley was often seen at sporting events, school functions and plays, encouraging and supporting her babies. She enjoyed shopping and being outdoors. She loved her family and spending time with them was her greatest joy. Shirley was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bonham. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Cheryl Partridge of Bonham, TX; granddaughter, Candace Hunnicutt and her husband, Stryker of Bonham; great grandson, Wyatt Hunnicutt; brother, Mike Barnett of Kingston, OK; nephews, Adam Barnett and his wife, Cheryl and their children, Brenden and Daven and Joe Barnett and his wife, Misty; special friends, Pat Ottmo, Cheyenne Orr and Pam Brannum; extended family and friends and all of her “Babies” that she cared for over the years.
Pallbearers will be Stryker Hunnicutt, Sebastian Murden, Tristan Partridge Brenden Barnett and Shane Stone. Honorary Pallbearer will be Wyatt Hunnicutt.
