Theta Faye Keeble [1938 - 2020]

Theta Faye Keeble, age 82, passed away November 19, 2020 at Medical City in Plano.  She was born to Frank Levi and Era Edith Romans March 3, 1938 in Cumby.
Theta married Jerry Keeble, November 3, 1956, and obtained a bachelor’s of education degree from East Texas State University in Commerce.  After earning her bachelor’s degree she enrolled in Sam Houston University in Huntsville and earned her master’s degree.  Education was important to Theta so she went to work as an elementary school teacher at Rains County ISD in Point, and Aldine ISD.  When she was not teaching, she enjoyed going to church and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association.
Theta is survived by her husband, Jerry of Commerce, sons: Tony Keeble, M.D. and wife Robin of Grapevine, and Eric Keeble and wife Leanne of Cypress, and her three grandchildren: Ian Keeble, Geddy Keeble, and Audie Keeble.  She is also survived by her brother Kenneth Romans of Cumby, sister-in-law Judy Keeble Burns and husband Dennis of Mesquite and her nephews, Alan Romans and Daniel Romans and wife Mary.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral service will be conducted by Kris Myers at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, November 22, 2020 at the Mt. Carmel Chapel.  The funeral home will be open for informal viewing Saturday afternoon, November 21, 2020.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Moore, Ian Keeble, Geddy Keeble, Audie Keeble, Daniel Romans, and John Miles.

Kenneth W Carver, Sr. [1942 - 2020]

Kenneth W. Carver, Sr., age 78, passed away on November 13, 2020, at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs.  He was born on October 28, 1942, to Winston and Lillian LaVerne Carver in Dallas.
Kenneth grew up in Irving and graduated from Irving High School.  He married Linda Roundtree on March 23, 1968, in Cumby.  Ken managed a fast-paced job at Motorola in their semiconductor division overseeing their configuration and documentation department, which allowed him to travel around the world.  He enjoyed his world-wide travels, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures during his career.
Service to others was important to Kenneth.  He volunteered as a fireman and first responder in Bastrop County.  Ken had an amazing mechanical ability; he could literally fix anything that ran on diesel or gasoline. He also enjoyed restoring older vehicles.  Ken enjoyed ranching and raising Red Brangus cattle.   Ken and Linda were blessed to be able to travel and see many sights throughout the United States.
He is survived by his wife, Linda and son, Kenneth Wayne Jr., Grandsons: Kyle Wayne Carver, Kristian Carver and wife Cheryl, and great-grandson Thomas.  Brother Wendell Carver and wife Brenda; Sister-in-law Retha & husband Jack Cooke; and Patsy Roundtree; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
The graveside service will be conducted by Bro. Tim Hearn, at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday November 17, 2020 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.  Owens Funeral Home will be open Monday for informal viewing through the day.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Carmel Cemetery Association in Wolfe City, Texas.

Edwin Earl Ivey Sr. [1928 - 2020]

Edwin Earl Ivey, Sr., age 92, passed away November 12, 2020 at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Irving.  He was born to Sam and Flora Mansfield Ivey June 8, 1928 in Ladonia.
Edwin enjoyed trail rides, participating in the Texas Wagon Train Circuit, riding in the grand entrance at the start of the Mesquite Rodeo.  He worked for many years as an auto mechanic making certain his friends and neighbors had reliable transportation.
Edwin married the love of his life, Hazel Bench in September of 1948 in Ladonia.  They raised five children: Edwin Earl Jr., Calvin, Glenda, Cecile, and Billy.  He is survived by his wife, children: Edwin Jr. and wife Norma, Calvin and wife Gloria, Cecile Tidwell and husband Roger, and Billy and wife Linda.  He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren. two great, great grandchildren and one sister, Ethel McKay.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Glenda, siblings Moses Elmer (Tony) Ivey, Therel Ivey, Kenneth Ivey, Mamie, Bernice and Tommy.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at Owens Funeral Chapel in Wolfe City from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  The graveside service will be conducted by Brother Jim Corbet, at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.

Johnny Doyle Bennett [1955 - 2020]

Johnny Doyle Bennett, age 64, passed away at Wilson N Jones Regional Medical Center.  He was born to William Joseph and Mary Lemons Bennett in Wolfe City.
Johnny, known as Hollywood, worked at Texas A & M Commerce as a groundskeeper for many years after graduating from Wolfe City High School.  Johnny was a Christian and read his bible every day.  He always made time for his son, Shane and his grandchildren.  He loved his mom and his Aunt Bernice.  He loved his three dogs: Lady, Duke and Pepper.  He liked being around his coworkers, watching and supporting his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, and playing dominoes.  He was a Mason for many years.
Johnny is survived by his son: Shane Bennett and wife Sharena, grandkids: Nevaeh Liberty Lee Bell Bennett, Wyatt Michael Craig Bennett, Ricky Vaillette Jr., Laramy Smith, Dalya White, Tevin Rushing, Celina Wilson, Cezanne Williams, and Keirsten Williams, three brothers and one sister.  He is also survived by his stepdaughters: Marketta Lopez, and Kim Ingram good friends: James “Lucky” Luckey, Kris Crews, Stevie Sanders and Gary Roundtree, and his girlfriend, Elizabeth Castle, whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Uncle Hall, Uncle Henry, Uncle Martin Doyle, Aunt Bernice Shaha, Uncle Robert (Bob) Lemons, and Aunt Verna Mae.
The graveside service will be conducted Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.  Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.
