Joe Woodruff [1954-2020]

Joe Woodruff, age 66, passed away in Commerce, September 29, 2020.  He was born as Randy Joe Woodruff, August 3, 1954, to Robert Hugh and Helen “Louise” Paris Woodruff
Joe attended Wolfe City High School, before going to work as a truck driver.  He worked for several companies including Carlton Henslee in Wolfe City.  Joe drove trucks for other local companies including Williams Farms, Vittetoe Gin and Lankford Farms.  He spent many years traveling the highways while he delivered important cargo – whether it was someone’s household possessions when they moved or other valuable cargo.  When he was not driving, he lived as a cowboy.  He loved raising his horses and mules.  He loved his dogs and greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting hogs.  He married Barbara Gardner March 14, 1993 in Wolfe City.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Wolfe City, five children: Ty Woodruff of Wolfe City, Melissa Stapleton and husband Carlon of Wolfe City, Brandon Woodruff and wife Jill of Wolfe City, Brian McWhirter and wife Lea of Wolfe City, and Bart Deaton of Commerce.  He is also survived by two siblings, Carolyn Williams of Wolfe City and Cathy Painter and husband Pat of Wolfe City, his grandchildren: Copelynn King, Lex Woodruff, Jason Malone, Nick Malone, Lacy Malone, Taylor Woodruff, Kinsly Woodruff, Jayla Mc Whirter, Gage McWhirter, Gentry Deaton, and Rhynn Deaton, and his great-grandchildren: Colter Speights, Kansas Malone and Holden Malone.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M., Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Fairlie.  The memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. and will be conducted by Michael White of Wolfe City.  The following long time friends will be honorary pallbearers: Timmy Davis, Ferrin “Lupe” Long, David Crossland, Gene Kounovsky, Gary Russell, James Busby, Ricky Woodruff, Bobby Tice, Junior Gregg and Steve Robinson.

Michael David Green (1972 - 2020)

Michael David Green, age 48, of Wolfe City, passed away September 8, 2020 in his home.  He was born April 4, 1972 to Cleo and Virgie Green in Idabel, Oklahoma.  He married Melanie Malone, June 4, 1999 in Arkansas.

Michael enjoyed happy times, fishing, and hunting with his sons and many dogs. He was an avid Wolfe City sports fan- watching his sons and their friends play football and basketball.
He had an awesome talent for grilling and smoking meats. He loved to cook for anyone who gathered at the table.

Michael was a quiet man with a generous heart for others and never met a stranger. He had a special talent for connecting with people of all ages.
Michael is survived by his wife, Melanie, sons: Hunter Green and wife Brooke of Bryan, Lance Phillips and Logan Green of Wolfe City, two granddaughters, Kinsey and River Green of Bryan.  He is also survived by his mother Virgie Wheeler and brother Kevin Green and wife Amy of Van Alstyne, parents-in-law, Buzz and Linda Malone, brother-in-law Cody Malone and wife Kristi of Wolfe City, two nephews Ty Malone and Colton Green, five nieces: Tori and Tessa Malone, and Kamy and Kendal Green and Chelsie Wright, and great-niece Emery Malone.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cleo and his brother Darrin.

Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 12, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Wolfe City, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M.  The funeral will be conducted by John Moore.  Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.

Pallbearers will be Cody Malone, Jerome Tucker, Gaylen Swinson, Cole Swinson, Jim Jake Templin, Cory Shamburger and Jarred Killian.  Kerry Hartgraves will be an honorary pallbearer.

Linda Jane Moseley (1942 - 2020)

Linda Jane Moseley, age 78, was born on July 23, 1942 to Bill and Lucy Cooper in Durant, Ok. She passed away on Sept 4 at 4:55pm at her daughter’s home, surrounded by loved ones.

She married Don Moseley on August 6, 1958 in Durant OK.  They had 3 children, Donna Wade and husband Charlie of Magnolia, Lisa Robinson and husband Joel of Wolfe City and Larry Moseley and wife Anna of Royse City.

Linda and Don moved to Wolfe City in 1966 and started a business, Don’s Drive Inn on Main Street and later relocated the business to downtown/East Main Street. They also had Don’s Drive Inn cafe in Leonard, Honey Grove, Celeste and Canton. In 1972 they opened D&L Drive in Grocery which is now Wolfe City Nutrition Store on Crockett Street. In 1987 they relocated to Cash Texas and opened D&L Tires in Greenville.

She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Amanda Wade of Magnolia and her children Olivia and Noah, Daniel Wade of Tomball and his wife Mia and their daughter Layla Jean of Tomball, Haley Seymour and her husband Randall of Colorado Springs, Jade Morgan and her husband Geoff of Wolfe City and their children Landon and Julianne, Jill Robinson and her children Garrett and Karsyn of Wolfe City, Jacy Weissert and her husband Nick and their children of Wolfe City Parker, Abel and #3 due in April, Monica Hoerner of Korea / USAF, Michael Moseley of Kuwait / USAF, Nicholas Moseley of Barksdale,LA/USAF, Jacob Moseley of Royse City.  Linda is also survived by her three siblings, Sandy Larose of Mead, OK, Cathy Wilson of Pottsboro, and Bill Cooper Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lucy Cooper and her husband Don.

We will have a graveside service, at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City conducted by Michael White.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 10:00 at the cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Nicholas Moseley, Jacob D Moseley, Daniel Wade, Haley Seymour, Garrett Villareal, and Geoffrey Morgan.  Nick Weissert and Michael Moseley will be honorary pallbearers.
