Martha “Arvinia” Paris Barnes (1933-2020)

June 10, 1933 – August 22, 2020

Martha “Arvinia” Barnes, age 87, passed away at Glen Rose Nursing and Rehab in Glen Rose.  She was born to John and Purna Greenwood Paris June 10, 1933.

Arvinia attended Leonard High School.  After leaving high school, she married Glendon Barnes in Wolfe City.  She was a Sunday school teacher, loved gardening and was an avid quilter.  She made many beautiful quilts.

Arvinia is survived by her son, David Barnes of Greenville, daughter, Susan Wisdom and husband Mark of Glen Rose, three grandchildren: Sara Wisdom, Hanna Wisdom, and John Wisdom all of Glen Rose, and two sisters: Imogene Wallace of Greenville and Edith Isbell of Denison.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers: Fred Paris, Lenzel Paris and Clyde Paris, and three sisters: Louise Woodruff, Mearl Allen, and Earlene Foster.

The graveside service will be conducted by Pat Painter at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 28, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.  The funeral home will be open for viewing on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 8:00 to 5:00.

Jimmie Lee Warren (1949 - 2020)

Jimmie Lee Warren, age 71, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020 at his home.  He was born to John W and Anna Watkins Warren May 2, 1949 in Greenville.
Jimmie wanted to serve his neighbors and country so he enlisted in the Navy and was a member of the Construction Battalion (Seabees) during the Vietnam War.  He returned home from Vietnam and graduated with a double major from East Texas State University in Commerce.  His desire to serve others was still strong, which lead him to join Biker’s for Christ and help found the Revelator’s Outreach Ministry.  When Jimmie was not spreading the gospel, he enjoyed rebuilding hotrods and riding motorcycles, especially his beloved Harley Davidson.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Charlotte, mother, Anna, children: David Warren, Katherine and husband Howard Rios, Cheryl and husband Richard Sanchez, Todd and wife Linda Broeske, and Joshua and wife Elizabeth Broeske.  He is also survived by his grandchildren: Brooke Lewellyn, Kirsten Edwards, Rebekah Chisenhall, Ryan Rios, Matthew Billings, Robert Torres, Bryce Broeske, Samantha Paige, Christopher Torres, Tyler Broeske, Chase Broeske, Richard Sanchez, Colton Broeske, and Cooper Broeske.  Jimmie has the following great-grandchildren: Grace Torres, Avery Sanchez, Jordyn Edwards, Richard Sanchez, and Beau Broeske.

The funeral service will be conducted by Joshua Broeske at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Commerce Assembly of God.  Visitation will be at 11:30 at the church.  Pallbearers will be Colton Broeske, Tyler Broeske, Chase Broeske, Cooper Broeske, Ryan Rios, and Steven Petty. Lucas Moreland will be an honorary pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Jimmie Warren Benevolence Fund.  Please make checks out to Commerce Assembly of God.

Webb Wilson Jr (1923 - 2020)

Webb Wilson Jr., 96, went to his heavenly home on August 7,2020 surrounded by family in his home. He was the widower of Crana Louise Wilson. They shared 62 years of life together.

Born on September 9th, 1923 in Wolfe City, TX, he was the son of Joel Webb and Mary Lease Wilson. He joined the United States Navy in 1943. When he returned home, he farmed, fenced and started a family. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry, playing cards, domino games and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his devotion to God, his passion for planting a garden and his love for his wife and family.

He is survived by his children; Johnna Lou Ferguson and husband Steve of Longview, Sherry Nowlin and Jerry of Nine Mile Fall, Washington, Judy Cheney and husband Jack of Winnsboro, Robin Runnels and husband Jesse of Holly Lake, Vickie Worden and husband Lester of Cooper; 11 grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his six brothers and two sisters; Jennings Weldon, Bill Dick, John Jason, Puryear Burnett, Tommy Duke, Sallye Vick, Mary Queen, and Don Carlos Wilson.

He will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you take the time to plant a flower with your loved ones.

There will be an informal viewing Sunday afternoon at Owens Funeral Chapel in Wolfe City.
