Grant Samuel Tipps [1995 - 2021]

Grant Samuel Tipps, 25, of McKinney passed away on Thursday afternoon, February 25, 2021 in Plano, TX.  Grant was born on June 11, 1995 in Greenville to Eddie Dewayne Tipps and Rachel Annette Dawson.  Grant spent his entire life as an overcomer, having to make all the adjustments necessary for his special needs; which he did well. He loved anything dealing with the outdoors: hunting, fishing, and camping , to mention a few. Grant had an infectious laugh and sense of humor that often was displayed as he picked on people. He also enjoyed meeting new people and getting to know them.  Some of his indoor activities included his loving to watch the old westerns on TV. Another memorable thing about Grant was that you never had to guess where he stood on a topic; he would gladly speak his mind so that you would have no doubts about it!

Grant is survived by his siblings; Amber Shive and husband Jason, Cody Giles and wife Michelle, Justin Lynn Tipps and wife Lauren Jones, Jason Lee Tipps and wife Caitlyn Weeden, Kayla Ann Tipps and husband Johnathan Shirley, Jimmy Allen Tipps, Stacy Kay Tipps and John Wayne Tipps; grandmother Barbara Tipps.  He is also survived by his dad, Dale Giles, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Fairle.  Funeral service be at 1:00 P.M.  Burial will follow the service at Mt.Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.

Pallbearers will be Cody Giles, Justin Tipps, Jason Tipps, Jason Shive, Jeremy Myers and Clint Dawson.  Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Allen Tipps and John Wayne Tipps.

Jesse Ray Bobo [1941 - 2021]

Jesse Ray Bobo, age 80, passed away February 19, 2021 at his home in Chilton, while surrounded by his family.  He was born to Carl and Lucy Roden Bobo February 8, 1941 in Wolfe City.
Jesse graduated from high school in Fort Worth, then he opened a service station, which he operated until he was drafted into the Army.  He served honorably during the Vietnam War, then returned home and married Alice Brown January 27, 1967.
Jesse and Alice spent many happy years together, raising three sons: Dwayne, Benny and Jody.  He was a firm man who was extremely independent.  He loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his wife Alice, sons: Dwayne Bobo and wife Leann, Benny Bobo and wife Becky, and Jody Bobo and wife Melissa.  He survived by his grandsons and granddaughters: Dwayne, Kelly, Roy, Ryan, Jason, Brandon, Bryce, Esteban Garcia, Adrian Rueda, Rachael, Amanda, Valerie, Maggie, Brielle, alli, Elena, Brandi, and Rachel.  He is also survived by nephew John Lamb and wife Dawn, niece Theresa Johnson, great-grandsons Ellison and Dallas, and one great-grandhchild who is on the way.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, brother Billy Franklin Bobo, sister Ethel Lamb Brown, nephews: Carlos Lamb, Jeff Lamb, and Tony Lamb, and great nephew Landon.
The funeral service will be conducted by Paster Brenda Williams at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Owens Funeral Chapel in Wolfe City.  Visitation will be one hour prior.

Katherine Gentry [1974 - 2021]

​Katherine Gentry, 73, of San Antonio, passed away Friday, February 5th, 2021, at Northeast Methodist Hospital. Ms. Gentry was born in Chicago Illinois to Rose Kennedy. She married James Gentry in 2005 in Las Vegas, Nev. Survivors are her son Sean of San Antonio, brother John and sister in-law Patricia of Arizona, and brother Patrick of Wisconsin. Additionally, she is survived by her grandkids Lauren, Hailey, Ryan, and Aiden. Katherine Gentry was a kind and generous wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Ms. Gentry positively impacted the lives of all fortunate enough to know her. Ms. Gentry was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, and husband James.


A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 10 at 10:00 am at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
