Steven Lynn Jackson [1964 - 2022]

Steven Lynn Jackson, 58, of De Leon, passed from this life Tuesday, December 20, 2022. He was born August 20, 1964, in Arlington, Texas. Steven was a loving son and a devoted father to his five children.

Steven graduated from Richardson High School in 1982. He moved to De Leon in 2019. He was self-employed with Mission Tortilla for many years. Steven was always full of life. He loved all kinds of music and comedy (especially Saturday Night Live). He enjoyed watersports and traveling. He would go to Six Flags any chance he got, even as an adult. Steven was a proud dad, always supportive and involved with his children’s lives and activities. There will be a large void left in the lives of his family, but his love will remain with them forever.

He is survived by parents, Nicholas J. Cangiamilla and Mary Ruth Henslee Cangiamilla; sons, Derek Jackson (Brittany), and Brennan Jackson (Kelsey); daughters, Clarissa Jackson (Tommy); Miranda Jackson Brassie (Garin), and Marleigh Jackson; brother, Nick Cangiamilla of Washington State; sister, Misty Overton (Billy); nieces, Kennedy and Zara; nephews, Stetson and Brazos; aunt, Patsy Johnston; uncle, Lanny Johnston; the Birdow family; other extended family; and many dear friends. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Jackson; grandparents, Leslie and Ruth Henslee; and grandmother, Leslie Jackson.

Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in Mt. Carmel Cemetery (934 CR 4818, Wolfe City, Texas 75496). 

Maureen Williams [1961 - 2022]

Maureen Williams, 61, of Canton, passed away December 17, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Sunnyvale. She was born June 25, 1961, in Dallas to Clyde Rex and Rita Mosier Kenyon. She married Ken Williams October 17, 1982, in Mesquite. Maureen worked as a Title Clerk for an automobile sales company.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Maureen graduated from Skyline High School in Dallas.  She enjoyed camping, cooking, fishing and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Williams; daughter, Kendra Williams; son and daughter-in-law, Grant and Katherine Williams; grandchildren, Ruby Brand, Jordynn King and Emma Williams; sister, Guylene Crouch and husband Billy, Sr.; niece and nephew, Julie Huggins and Billy Crouch, Jr. Preceding her in death were her parents, one grandchild, Kelly Dunn, one sister Rexanne Hamrick and one niece.

Ronny Lamar Berry [1950 - 2022]

Ronny Berry, 72, of Wolfe City, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at his home. A visitation service will be at the Owens Funeral Home on Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 6 until 8:00 P. M.

Ronny was born on May 3, 1950, in Hamlin to George Edward and Doris Rae Copeland Berry. He married Deborah (Debbie) Lynn Hinds on July 24, 1986, in Anson.

He graduated from high school in Stanford. His hobbies were fishing and reading along with grilling and cooking.

Ronny is survived by his wife, Debbie Berry; sons, Lamar and wife Trisha Berry and Johnny and Nicole Berry; daughters, Lisa and husband Nathan Porterfield, and Tracy Copeland; and son, Michael Schaffer and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Shirley Ann Stapleton [1939 - 2022]

Shirley Ann Stapleton passed away peacefully at her home on November 27, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 31, 1939, to Arvin Truman and Dora Gladys Melson. She was a loving Memaw to all who crossed her path. 

Shirley is survived by her sister, Arlene and husband Robert Russell of Sulphur Springs, TX; her children: Joe Brown of Bonham, TX, Joy Hughes and husband, Larry of Dangerfield, TX, Lisa Collinsworth of Bonham, TX, Treva Stapleton of Bonham, TX, Carlon Stapleton and wife, Melissa of Wolfe City, TX; grandchildren: Keith Collinsworth and wife, Staci, Kathryn Rogers and husband, Jimmy, Tylar Spaugh and husband, Gary, Tara Stapleton, Abby Dodd and husband, Kyle, Jaedyn Stapleton, Larame Stapleton, Nick Malone and wife, Halie, and Lacy Malone; great grandchildren: Kamdyn, Hayden, Macy, Kannon, Hadleigh, Ansley, Myles, and Hayze.

She was preceded in death by her soulmate and husband of 35 years, Carlon Leroy Stapleton; her parents, Arvin and Gladys Melson and her sister, Juanita McFarlin. 

The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Guardian Hospice.

Family visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 30th at Calvary Baptist Church in Bonham, TX, from 11:00 AM-12:00, followed by a family meal from 12:00- 1:00 PM. 

Graveside service will be held on November 30th at 2:00 PM at Mount Carmel East Cemetery in Wolfe City, TX.

Mary Dale Tuggle [1928 - 2022]

Mary Dale Tuggle 94 of McKinney, TX passed away on November 10, 2022.

She was born April 8, 1928, in Wolfe City, TX to parents Lenox and Lena (Clayton) Johnson.  She was married to Grover Tuggle in Dallas, TX on March 15, 1952, and together they raised their daughter Jan.
​
Mary was a member of Collin County Church of Christ.  She worked more than 50 years in health care facilities and after retirement she volunteered with the Hospital Auxiliary in McKinney.  Her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mary “Gram” is survived by her three grandchildren: granddaughter and husband, Shannon and Dr. Andrew Mott of Melissa TX, granddaughter and husband, Megan and Kirk Sieling of Brentwood TN, grandson and wife, Adam and Jessica Andre of Jerseyville IL; as well her grandchildren’s father, Keith Andre.  She is also survived by her seven great-grandchildren Heike Mott, Hans Mott, Truitt Sieling, Parker Sieling, Holden Sieling, Austin Andre, and Anthony Andre.

Mary is preceded in death by her mother Lena, Father Henry, sisters Joan Harris and Jean Palmer as well as her husband Grover Tuggle Jr. and daughter Jan.

The funeral service will be held at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City, TX on Sunday, Nov. 13th at 2PM with Stan Quesenberry officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Caramel Cemetery in Wolfe City.
